17 Days...

So I'm trying these Crest White Strips in hopes that I might have neon white teeth for the wedding. So far so good till today when I did two back to back while sitting at my computer at work. HELLO! I think my right #3 incisor is up in flame right now. I'm not even sure if there is such thing as a right #3 incisor, but who cares. My tooth is pretty much crazy sensitive to everything under the sun right now. And another thing about Crest White Strips...who had to make them so dang slippery on your teeth? You put one on and the next thing you know it's at the top back of your gums or something. The whole 30 minutes is a balance between straightening the dang things and trying not to go near anyone because you're foaming profusely at the mouth. Whatever, as long as they bring me snow white teeth by the 29th.

I have never wanted to be married more than today. If it were any longer than 17 days I'd probably go insane. I want to be married like there's no tomorrow! God, please help me through these next 17 days without blacking out and messing up my neon white teeth...

Much love, friends. Tonight I'll be dreaming of the woman I don't deserve, the woman of my dreams, and the woman I will call my wife in 17 turns of the sun...

2 things I'm excited about that come out tomorrow:
Continuum • John Mayer
Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven But Nobody Wants To Die • David Crowder

To Love The Woman You Love

Sometimes it's hard to love the woman you love
When you're under the blanket of rules
Sometimes it's hard to suppress your passion
When you're on a train full of jewels

The wheels continue in motion
Leading us a couple thousand miles east of the ocean
And we can breathe the day, it's so close
When the blanket will be lifted
And the rules will fade like a ghost

Sometimes it's hard to love the woman you love
When the world is leading you the wrong way
But sometimes it's easy to love the woman you love
When you remember that love has brought you here today

My love, I am here to tell you
That you are more beautiful than all the angels painting the sky
And when you lay your head to rest tonight
Remember that I will love you till the day I die

Sometimes it's easy to love the woman you love
When she is the one you can't stop dreaming of

And when I close my eyes tonight
Under the canvas of stars above
I will thank my Father in the skies
For there is nothing more beautiful
Than to truly love the woman you love

35 Days...

My man Griffin House has done it again. Please do yourself a favor and give Homecoming a listen today. I haven't got the coin to buy it yet, but it doesn't hold me back from listening to the 30 second tease of each song on iTunes over and over. This dude can flat-out play. One of the top five songwriters in the world right now, hands down. Support my brother and buy a copy and listen to it till you brake it and have to buy another. It's just that good.

Love someone today.

63 Days...

I want some Caribou Coffee right now. Even since I left the Midwest I haven't been able to get my hands on a cup except for the few times a year I fly through Minneapolis or stop by the hometown locations back in Ohio. Kel and I are heading back to Cinci next week for a Stolarski family vacation...that's right, I'm finally getting to go along, since I'm now 62 days away from officially being family. It's an honor that I get to go, and it's an honor that I get to call this wonderful group of people family.

I'm reading some Harry Potter right now. Order of the Phoenix to be exact. Great read, this Potter. Kel and I are going to try and finish it on vacation so we can run headlong into book 6. I've been dreaming a lot today about starting a coffee company. I know, I'm a freakin' dreamer if there ever was one, but I'm serious. I have a dream and a vision and I think it could be a really cool deal. And it would for sure have free wireless. No more of this pay for internet crap. That's straight bogus. A neighborhood coffee shop, sort of in the same league as Caribou, but focusing not only on coffee, but books as well. Good literature. Not a Barnes and Noble kind of deal either. A comfortable coffee shop that feels like a homestyle living room, complete with tables and couches and fireplace (you gotta have the fireplace), and then shelves with books. A place where people can come and buy a brew and grab a good piece of literature off a shelf along the wall like in their own home and read it, buy it, put it back for later, whatever they want. Who knows, could be a good thing. It'd probably be called Festival Coffee. Starbucks will probably be out of business within its first year.

Much love, friends. It feels good to write. I'm getting married in 62 days and I might just pass out I'm so excited. I'm crazy in love with my best friend, and it's just a little bonus that she also happens to be the most beautiful woman in all the world.

San Diego is as hot as McDonald's coffee right now.

77 Days...

My dad emailed me today and reminded me of some beautiful words penned by Frost. "Love knows no devotion like playing shore to the ocean." Simply gorgeous. For the first time in a year, I'm back to being thousands of miles away from the woman I love. Kel's back in Chicago for a wedding and I am sitting at work thanking God for her as I stare out a wall of windows on the 5 freeway. Missing someone does things to your heart that are simply indescribable. Even being apart for just a day, a thousand things that I love about Kel come rushing at me. The feeling of her soft hand in mine, the smell of her hair when she is in my arms, her feet in my lap when I drive. The list goes on. As I learn to love, I am also learning more and more how much I truly need God. I am selfish. I crave to be refined. I want to love the way Jesus loves me, you, us. I want to be able to love with a passion straight from my Father, a love that doesn't worry about the reflection in the mirror or what others think. I want to love my future wife the way that God designed it to be. No chains, no games. And Kel, if you are reading this, know that there is nothing in all the world more beautiful and irresistible than you. Thank you for saying yes to me for a lifetime. I don't deserve a second with you, but I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life as your man.

"Love knows no devotion like playing shore to the ocean."

81 Days...

I wrote this sometime last year. Hope it shakes you.

Dry Up The River

It’s time to dry up the river
That separates the black from the white
It’s time to arm ourselves with the weapon of love
In this battle we’ve been called to fight

Love is not a drug that runs out
Love is the potion that we’re all about
It’s time to dry up the river
Between the sick and the healthy
It’s time to open arms of peace
Instead of building a wall between the poor and the wealthy

Cuz one day the world is going to fade
And what will last but the love you made

The hate and the fists
The separation you won’t miss
Continents and countries
States and seas
We don’t live in a land
Meant to be separated by these
It’s time we threw love in the middle
And began to believe

That someday this land will be free
And neighbors we will be
From east coast to west coast
From the south pole to the northern most

We will walk together
And we will live together
And all the races and all the faces
Will sing together in harmony…

It’s time to dry up the river
That separates me from you

The day is gonna come
When all the colors will run
Into love in shades of you and me
Brothers and sisters, we are one
And we are free

It’s time to kiss the sand
Open your eyes, lend a hand
Spread your arms wide
Open your eyes to the skies
And remember that if we wanna fly
Love is the only direction when we die

It’s time to dry up the river
That separates black from white
Love is the only fuel
For a soul in flight

Let’s dry up this river tonight
Let’s dry up this river tonight
Let’s dry up this river that is separating
The wrong from the right

It’s time to dry up this river
That is keeping me from you
It’s time to dry up this river
Love has too much to do

Love has too much for you…

95 Days...

Clouds part like dirt from a soul
And your sky can be seen.
Clap your hands, it's a beautiful day,
Even all the sinners are free...

Yesterday, England won. That little blue-booted Beckham hooked a ball coated in mad english into the far corner of the goal to beat the boys of Ecuador. I hope to see England take home the Cup, but too many solid teams are left to say just yet. Brazil is still in it and they're a squad stacked with soccer wizards. You never know. Football is a fascinating deal.

If you want to be shaken, throw on Keane's new album, "Under the Iron Sea" and skip to track 8, "Crystal Ball". Damn, that's a fine tune. Listen to the whole album because it's phenomenal, but after "Crystal Ball", turn to track 11 and be elevated by the melodies of "The Frog Prince".

I'm finishing a cold cup of coffee. It's time to go. Going to pick up my girl to do some late night grocery shopping.

To a better place I am being carried.
In 94 days this boy will be married...

100 Days...

Brothers, sisters, dreamers, lovers, bratwurst eaters, Flybar clowns, and World Cup addicts...

Today is a beautiful day. Why? Becuase one, I am alive and breathing the fumes of truth and love, two, today marks fourteen months that Kel and I have been together, three, I'm going to buy Keane's new album, and four, we just hit double digits in the countdown to being husband to the most beautiful woman who has ever lived! HELLO! WATCH OUT! Can you hear the chorus of little garden gnomes all over the world singing, "99 days, 99 days..."! What the? I'm not sure what that meant, but who cares. I'm excited.

Update on the Cup...My boys from England moved on. In honor, I'm going to go no shirt all day at work. Could be a bit awkward, but why not celebrate with a bare chest. The Cup only happens once every four years! If USA wins tomorrow against Ghana and Italy smokes the Czechs, then I will complete the outfit and remove the pants as well.

Donnie, if you're reading this, I'm a thousand miles beyond envious of you being there at the Cup. Flybar on, my friend. Let love be the force that guides you and the pogo. Can't wait to see you soon!

I'm off to dream of her. 99 days and counting...

Love today with wind of passion.

105 Days...

I'm sitting in Panera doing what I love to do...drink coffee, read, write, dream about my girl. I'm so into this World Cup right now. I can't get enough. The only bummer is that most of the games are played before I rise for the day and finished by the time I leave work. It also doesn't help that I don't have cable where I live right now, so even if I was around during a match, I'd still be watching the Gamecast online. My faves right now...obviously my homeland, USA, but they basically ran headlong into a train called the Czech Republic the other day and the train won. They play Italy tomorrow and let's hope it goes a bit better. Other than my home soil, I'm rooting for England. I like those white boys. They can play.

Kel and I just spent a great week with our good friends, Scott and Kristen. Fine couple they are. Wish they lived out here in California. Other than that, Kel and I have just been getting more and more excited about being married. Engagement is such a wonderful time, but 104 days seems like forever when I want to be married yesterday. I'm just ready in my heart, so even though 104 days is like nothing in the long run, it seems like five years away. Every day I thank God for my beautiful fiancee. I have no idea how I ever got to be with her. All God, without a doubt. I just think of her and my heart starts doing backflips and pirouettes and stuff. I guess I just can't believe that I get to be with the most ridiculously beautiful and irresistible woman who has ever lived...and for the rest of my life! God is so far beyond good.

I'm raising my mug high tonight and thanking my Father for my babe. It is beautiful tonight just thinking of her...
